Thanks to the hard work of our Stowe Parks crew, today we opened the Tyro Large Terrain Park with 10 freestyle features! Looking ahead to tomorrow, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for snow and mixed precipitation over the next 24 hours. The forecast calls for snow to develop tonight, with a few inches of accumulation possible, before precipitation changes to a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain tomorrow morning. The wintery mix is expected to continue through the morning, tapering off in the early afternoon. Cross your fingers for more snow than mix!

Tonight we plan to groom 57 trails, including the steep favorite Hayride. We will also groom the Fifth Avenue, North Slope, Midway, and Tyro terrain parks which have a total of 36 freestyle features. Also, check out the 6 temporary terrain features located at the base of the Chin Clip Runout. We hosted a special event there last weekend and we left the features up for your enjoyment this week. Please note that with the Stowe Schuss Ski Race taking place tomorrow, the following trails at Spruce Peak will be reserved or inaccessible due to the race: Slalom Hill, West Slope, Lower West Run and Lower Smugglers.
